From 17 to 23 August, at least six fires made the public record in Singapore. Nobody died. Three people were taken to hospital. More than 130 people were evacuated from homes and a campus wing.
This is what was actually reported. It is not a complete Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) log. Causes were still under investigation. Occupants’ guesses about wiring or sockets are not official findings, so they are not written here as fact.

18 August — Fernvale A kitchen fire at Block 408B Fernvale Road, Sengkang. SCDF was alerted at about 5pm. Officers said the fire involved the contents of a kitchen. The flat was empty. 18 August — Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) Same afternoon, about 5.15pm. Campus 1, Wing B, 80 Bencoolen Street. SCDF said the fire involved air-handling machinery in a level-one workshop. A water jet put it out. About 50 people were evacuated from the wing. Nobody was hurt. The cause was still under investigation. Source: SCDF via The Straits Times.
20 August — Buangkok Block 979B Buangkok Crescent, second floor. SCDF was alerted at about 12.25am. Officers said the fire involved the contents of a bedroom. A water jet put it out. About 60 people were evacuated. One elderly resident was taken to Sengkang General Hospital with cuts on the feet and later discharged. News reports said a neighbour used a fire extinguisher and helped three people leave the unit. We are not naming the neighbour, and we are not saying whose extinguisher it was. 21 August — Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) About 12.10am, towards Woodlands, on the slip road into the Seletar Expressway. Police and SCDF said two Traffic Police officers saw smoke from the engine compartment of their patrol car and got out. They and a member of the public tried to fight it. SCDF put it out with a water jet. Both officers were taken conscious to Singapore General Hospital for smoke inhalation. The cause was still under investigation. 21 August — Toa Payoh About 6pm. Open-air carpark at Block 148 Lorong 1 Toa Payoh. SCDF said the fire involved the engine compartment of a car. A water jet put it out. Nobody was hurt. 22 August — Bukit Batok About 12.50pm. Third-floor two-storey maisonette at Block 628 Bukit Batok Central. SCDF said the fire involved the contents of a living room. A water jet put it out.
